It is our determination that Fermoy does not become a dormitory town, similar to Cobh. The Protection of Sanmina SCI and Quinn Healthcare’s employment in town is paramount to this. However, we must recognise that many people have to travel out of Fermoy every day for work and their travels should not be made more difficult than is necessary. If Elected I will
• Continue to call on Bus Eireann and Directroute to reverse its most recent fare hikes for the bus & road services they respectively provide.

• Work with CIE in order to achieve that a proportion of their daily Route 245 services would run via the Fermoy Relief Road, bringing coach services within Closer reach of vast numbers of new estates.

• Ask the Department of Transport, via our role in Government, to restore the N8 road from Watergrasshill northwards to run Alongside the M8 Motorway, providing for better road maintenance funding, the return of 100km/h Speed limits on the road, and a reduction in median width at Interchange Roundabouts, to lessen impact of these man-made obstacles
