- The extension of walkways and cycle-ways to facilitate the best appreciation of our natural countryside
- The decoupling of Adjustments to Fermoy’s weir from the much needed Flood relief works. We believe that the one need not be associated with the other and are working with the Department of Natural Resources to ensure this will not be the case. We see the weir as being a key element to what Fermoy is in visual terms, but also in the social and economic sense of providing the outlet that is the Rowing Club, and maintaining high-value events such as the annual rowing regatta and Blackwater Triathlon.
It would be a most Grievous mistake to ignore tourism’s potential to Fermoy in economic terms, accruing to millions of euro per annum. The town has a lovely visual impact which must be protected and enhanced within our means. Under this heading the following will be pursued by the Greens,
